I did a fresh install of AlmaLinux, AlmaLinux 9.5 base VM, after which I found that I didn’t have the taskbar or icons I expected:

Looking in settings, there didn’t seem any obvious settings.

Extensions

Click on “Activities” in the top left corner and search on “Extensions”:

You will likely have to install this extension.

Click on Extensions to open it:

It’s pretty intuitive what everything is.
